If you’ve got a growing arsenal of Apple Watch bands, the Twelve South TimePorter is an accessory worth your attention. It transforms your bands from drawer clutter into a display you’ll actually use — and will make your next band swap way easier. I’ll drop a video review here when it’s live so you can see it in action.
What Is It & How It Works
- The TimePorter is a wall-mounted bar that holds up to six Apple Watch bands by slipping the lugs into a gap between two silicone (or rubber) lips.
- It mounts using 3M Command strips, so installation is tool-free and relatively safe for walls.
- The design is minimal and clean — glossy white bar with chrome end caps — fitting well with Apple’s aesthetic.
- Each bar is modular: you can connect multiple TimePorters side by side via included connectors to expand capacity.
My Impressions & Observations
- Display & Accessibility Having my bands visible and easily reachable changes how often I change them. Before, many were boxed or tucked away; now they’re part of the decor.
- Hold & Security Despite its lightweight plastic build, it holds bands securely — even heavier or metal bands — thanks to the clever lip design.
- Look & Fit The glossy white finish fits nicely in a modern setup.
- Limitations You do need wall or vertical space for it. If your band collection exceeds six per bar, you’ll need multiple units. Also, because it’s mostly plastic, it’s not super heavy-duty.
How It Fits Into Your Watch Setup (Hermès / Leather Bands etc.)
- For premium leather or Hermès bands, keeping them clean, dry, and visible is key — this mount helps with that by elevating and organizing them.
- It’s also good for switching bands quickly: no more fumbling through drawers or boxes.
- As you build more straps (e.g. leather, sport, metal), you won’t need to hide them — you’ll want to show them off.
Verdict
If you have more than two or three Apple Watch bands, TimePorter is a neat, modest investment to bring order and style to your collection. It’s not perfect — plastic build, depends on adhesive, requires vertical space — but it elevates how you use and interact with your bands. Once I add the video, you’ll see exactly how it works, hold quality, and how it fits in daily life.
