American Airlines Admirals Club – C Concourse (Charlotte)

After a 3:00 AM start to my travel day, I arrived in Charlotte running on fumes. With a five-hour layover ahead of me, I was incredibly thankful to have access to the Admirals Club in the C Concourse at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

Busy airport lounge with travelers seated in rows of armchairs under a coffered ceiling, working on laptops and relaxing between flights.

First Impressions

Getting in was a breeze. No long lines. No hassle. Just a smooth check-in and immediate entry into a calm, quiet space — exactly what I needed.

The first priority? Finding a comfortable spot. I settled into a cozy chair with a small table, plugged in my devices, and took a deep breath. After an early morning like that, the ability to simply sit somewhere peaceful makes all the difference.

Food & Drinks

I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast options. I enjoyed:

  • Scrambled eggs
  • Sausage
  • Roasted tomatoes
  • A donut (or two…)

Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared — not just “airport decent,” but genuinely good.

The coffee setup was another highlight. I treated myself to both a latte and a cappuccino, which were solid and exactly what I needed to power through the rest of the morning.

Service

What really stood out was the staff.

They were friendly, proactive, and attentive. More than once, someone stopped by to ask if I needed anything. If something wasn’t immediately available, they were happy to grab it and bring it over. That level of hospitality elevates the experience from “nice lounge” to “memorable.”

Comfort & Atmosphere

The club offered:

  • Reliable, fast Wi-Fi
  • Clean and well-maintained restrooms
  • Comfortable seating with space to spread out
  • A quiet, relaxed environment

For a five-hour layover — especially after starting my day before sunrise — it was exactly what I needed. Relaxing. Refreshing. Restorative.

Final Thoughts

If you find yourself with time to spare in Charlotte’s C Concourse, I would 1,000% recommend stopping by the Admirals Club. For me, it turned what could have been a long, exhausting layover into a genuinely enjoyable break in my travel day.

Would I visit again? Absolutely.

Note: There is a small bar area with complimentary beer, wine, and spirits, and there are plans for a larger new Admirals Club elsewhere in the airport in the future (I've heard new D-E Concourses). Finally, this location does not have showers, something some frequent flyers care about on long layovers.
